SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Val Garay has produced dozens of platinum and gold records and worked with artists including Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Dolly Parton, Bonnie Raitt, the Motels, Toto, Don Henley, Kim Carnes, Neil Diamond, Santana, Reel Big Fish and a who's who of others. He produced the GRAMMY(r) Award-winning "We Are the World," introduced entirely new production and micing techniques, and in the 1970s was a key architect of what is still known as the "LA Sound."
Garay is both President and partner in Red Red Records. Garay's vast responsibilities include working and signing both heritage and up and coming artists as well as providing expertise in production, mixing, songwriting, creative direction and other aspects of making and marketing music. Additionally, Garay is producing and engineering scores for movies and television.
Like many industry veterans, Garay has been a long-time Lexicon user, and like many experienced record producers, has made the transition from hardware reverb and effects processors to software-based plug-ins.
"The quality of the reverb can make or break a track, or the sonic ambience of an entire record," noted Garay. "There's no room for sonic mediocrity when it comes to reverbs and effects, and trading sound quality for the convenience of a plug-in is not an acceptable compromise."
"When I first started working with the Lexicon PCM Native Reverb Plug-In Bundle, I realized that the technology had gotten to the point where I could have the best of both worlds," continued Garay. "The sounds are classic Lexicon - rich, deep and enveloping, and they can elevate a mix from being merely good to being absolutely captivating. In addition, the ability to tweak parameters to get exactly the sound quality you want, and then be able to save those settings and recall them instantly is a powerful advantage."
"Anything that enhances the creative process and helps make better-sounding records is something to be welcomed," concluded Garay. "The Lexicon PCM Native Reverb Plug-In Bundle is a powerful sonic tool that I intend to use as a key element of my future productions."
The Lexicon PCM Native Reverb Plug-In Bundle is designed to work with popular DAWs like Pro Tools(r) and Logic(r), as well as with any other VST(r), Audio Unit(tm) or RTAS(r)-compatible platform. Compatible with Windows(r) Vista, XP and 7 and Macintosh(r) computers, it offers seven unique Lexicon's plug-ins including Vintage Plate, Plate, Hall, Room, Random Hall, Concert Hall and Chamber, along with hundreds of presets including classics from Lexicon's extensive library of sounds.
Its intuitive user interface provides ready access to key parameters, with a graphical real-time full-color display that illustrates all key sonic parameters. Virtual input and output meters provide ready indication of audio levels, and presets can be stored in a DAW-independent format that can be transferred to a different DAW.
