HARMAN’s AKG Leads China’s Northeast Rock Festival Sound

Shenyang, China— Paving the way for perfect sound during performances by esteemed Chinese bands Fairy Manufacture and Harbin Savage Valley, an arsenal of HARMAN’s AKG microphones was deployed during the Northeast Rock Festival 2011, held at the Shenyang Rich Gate Shopping Center. The first large-scale music festival in the area led by local bands combined four major styles of music - Chinese underground music, Chinese rock chart toppers, Guitarchina and live house music to capture the attention of all fans in attendance.

AKG microphones surrounded each band as they performed to create the ultimate in sound for fans. On each drum set, concert engineers utilized the AKG Groove Pack – a P2 on the bass drum, three P4’s for the snare and toms and two P17 mics for overhead condensers. The high sensitivity and dynamic conduct of the Groove Pack mics represent the true sound and delicate details of the drum kit, which was a large factor in choosing AKG for the event.

AKG’s WMS450 wireless system was used, particularly the C2 mic, for vocals during the festival.

With AKG widely known throughout China as a hi-fi and recording brand, the Northeast Rock Festival was an opportunity for musicians to understand the strength and versatility of AKG during live performances. Generating a perfect atmosphere of sound, from the dynamics and sensitivity of the drums, to the wireless system for guitar and vocals is AKG’s vision. The festival was an opportunity to provide musicians a with shining example of AKG’ live performance capabilities.
