HARMAN’s Martin Professional M6 Lighting Console is the Optimal Solution for Tiens Conference

NEW YORK, New York — For Tiens Company’s annual distributor conference at Moscow’s Russia Hall in SC “luzhniki”, featuring a combination of official speeches and an original concert program for 8,000 guests, HARMAN’s Martin Professional provided Lighting Designer Roman Kasaev with a M6 console to control a design with over 100 Martin lighting fixtures.

To ensure the lighting design integrated seamlessly with the conference’s theme, Kasaev teamed with Daniel Maneshin, Technical Director at the Knyazev Agency, who was brought in to design the conference’s main concept. Maneshin also developed the conference’s business section as well as conceptualized many decorative and informative elements, which featured several LED screens mounted on the main stage. Kasaev chose 48 MAC 101 compact LED wash lights due to the brightness and colors that complimented the LED screens used at the event. The MAC 101s were mounted on custom-made metal structures between screen modules, eight pieces per aperture, due to their bright colored lights that fit ideally with the colors of the video-content on LED screens.

“The MAC 101s are extremely bright and they were never lost on the background of the LED screens,” said Kasaev. “What’s more, there were moments when they outshined the powerful MAC III Profiles.”

“Thanks to the built-in effects engine of the M6, I was able to create a very sophisticated and beautiful color and dimming effects for the MAC 101s,” Kasaev explained. “It resulted in a very intense, bright and impressive picture! The MAC 101s are very fast, so I could bring more diversity into lighting design to make it more dynamic and filled with drive and energy.”

The event program also featured classical ballet and acrobatic performances. To highlight the actors and gymnasts, Kasaev also chose 34 MAC III Profiles to create unique lighting accents with beautiful rays and gobo projections.

For Kasaev, the Tiens Conference was the first project where he was able to work with M6 console, only a slight change as he is familiar with the philosophy from using the M1 and M2GO controllers before. “I had a very big set of equipment for this project so I needed a more powerful console than the M,” Kasaev said. “I reached out to the Representative Office of Martin Professional in Moscow for the support and they provided me with M6 console.”

“Working with the M6 console was very cool and awesome,” he continued. “It’s definitely number one in the M-series due to the features, functions, power and possibilities. The effects engine that Martin’s R&D invented and implemented is a crazy story! The programming speed is really impressive! I had two monitors that allowed me to program many things much faster. The whole process is a pleasure, when you work on M6! The implementation is excellent, very easy to use. Every LD could find all the instruments they need to put their creative ideas into life! I want to recommended LDs to try to work with M-series consoles. It is really very easy, logical and simple solution for programming a variety of lighting effects!”

In addition, Kasaev deployed 50 MAC Aura’s and 12 Atomic 3000 DMX strobes throughout the lighting design.
