The
Science Behind the Sound: How to Select Loudspeakers and Headphones for
Broadcast and Production
As audiences
continue to adopt higher-quality home theater systems, it is more important
than ever for broadcasters to ensure that the audio they produce retains its
sound quality—from production to distribution. In this presentation by Dr. Sean
Olive, an Acoustic Research Fellow for HARMAN International, attendees will
learn about the current best practices for measuring loudspeaker and headphone sound
quality based on recent scientific research, and discover how choosing the
right monitoring systems can help ensure that consumers hear audio content
exactly as the artist or broadcast producer intends. At HARMAN, Dr. Olive
directs research focused on the perception and measurement of sound
reproduction. He has written over 50 research papers on his research, and was
awarded the Audio Engineering Society (AES) Fellowship Award.
5 Ways to Streamline Your Live Broadcast Workflows
It is critical for broadcasters to ensure
that their production workflows can meet today’s demands and adapt to
tomorrow’s developments and opportunities. In this presentation by Katy Templeman-Holmes, Director of Solutions
& Marketing for Hospitality and Broadcast at HARMAN, attendees will
learn five methods for improving workflow processes that save time, resources
and money. Topics will include common workflow challenges, primary workflow
components and the latest technologies that can simplify the production
process. In addition to discussing the components of a successful workflow, Templeman-Holmes will share tactics for
making workflow more efficient, and best practices that will help organizations
prepare for changes in the industry.
