Networked AV Innovator Combines Excellent Quality, Low Latency IP Video Encoding In Convenient Form Factor
LAS VEGAS—Today at InfoComm 2016, AMX by HARMAN, the industry leader in networked AV solutions, introduced the latest addition to its SVSI Encoder family – the SVSI NMX-ENC-N1115-WP Encoder Wall Plate. The N1115-WP joins the long list of award-winning SVSI solutions and integrates the legendary encoding capabilities of the SVSI NMX-ENC-N1133 Encoder into a 2-gang wall plate format to offer a wide range of installation possibilities. This encoder can easily be mounted in a wall, lectern, or floor box in huddle or flexible collaboration spaces, using a standard 2-gang US back box, and connected to power and Ethernet, using only a single category cable.
Using the same minimal proprietary codec as the SVSI N1000 product line, the NMX-ENC-N1115-WP features imperceptibly low latency - 10 ms at 60 fps (encode plus decode) - and excellent video quality. Distributing the video over standard off-the-shelf layer-3 network switches and standard category cable (Cat-5e or better), total system deployment costs can be kept low.
“With the addition of the wall-plate form factor to the N1000 product line, customers that need video source connectivity at the wall or floor now have access to all the benefits of Networked AV in an elegant form-factor,” said Andy Whitehead, General Manager, HARMAN Professional Networked AV Solutions. “Since the ports on an Ethernet switch are bi-directional, IP video distribution systems, such as the N1000, can easily be designed in symmetric or asymmetric configurations where the inputs and outputs can be a mix of wall plates, stand-alone units, and card-cage based units. This also makes it really easy to support future system expansion - an encoder or decoder can simply be connected to an open port on the Ethernet switch to add another video input or output.”
The AMX SVSI NMX-ENC-N1115-WP Encoder Wall Plate will be available in July 2016.
