John Powell Named Interim Sales Leader For HARMAN’s JBL Professional


NORTHRIDGE, California – HARMAN Professional today named industry veteran and proven sales leader John Powell as Interim Head of Sales for JBL Professional.  In doing so, the company provides distributors and manufacturer’s reps with an accomplished, qualified leader to manage sales operations as the organization migrates to a new system.  According to Blake Augsburger, President, HARMAN Professional, John Powell is uniquely qualified to support the channel with vast industry experience, 11+ years of HARMAN Professional experience, deep technical knowledge and unmatched commitment to supporting channel partners and customers.

“We’re positioning the JBL organization for consistent long-term growth,” Augsburger said today.  “Doing so will benefit customers, employees and key stakeholders — not least distributors and manufacturer’s representatives.  John Powell has stepped in to head up our sales organization and I am pleased that we have an executive of his caliber to call on from within our ranks.”

John Powell joined HARMAN Professional in 2001 as Director Of International Sales for dbx and DigiTech, and became Divisional Director of Sales for Canada and Latin America in 2008.  Prior to joining HARMAN, Powell served as Director Of Sales & Marketing for Boston Acoustics and previously as International Sales Manager for JBL International.  He holds a Bachelor Of Business Administration from California State University Northridge and is fluent in several languages.

John Powell, senior executive from JBL pro visited AUDIO / FREEVOX SCV FRANCE in 2014 and strongly encouraged the new French team which spreads(displays) enormous technical and logistic means to reposition JBL on his(her,its) leader's place in FRANCE. Being le N°1 with the line array JBL VTX.
John Powell during this visit in France made very strong impression for the profession.
