TSL Lighting Strengthens Inventory with Investment in HARMAN Products

UK rental supplier responds to customer demand for Martin Lighting with purchase of MAC Series fixtures

LONDON – HARMAN Professional Solutions (pro.harman.com), the leading audio, lighting, video and control products and systems company, announced today that UK lighting rental supplier TSL Lighting has invested in a large quantity of Martin MAC Vipers to its rental stock. The investment includes the award-winning MAC Viper Profile and also the industry standard framing fixture – the MAC Viper Performance.
Available for immediate rental, the MAC Vipers are now in stock at TSL’s base in Gatwick and have already been specified on a wide range of forthcoming rental projects by several lighting designers. Sam Tamplin from TSL commented: “MAC Viper is a significant investment decision for us and is driven by high customer demand and LD interest in this family of fixtures. The MAC Vipers sit well alongside the rest of our automated lighting rental stock. We have also used this opportunity to dispose of several lines of our older automated fixtures and standardise on the MAC Viper Spots. These fixtures are also an ideal complement to the MAC Aura XB’s that we invested in earlier this year.”
David Stewart from Martin Professional added: “We are delighted that TSL has chosen to include Martin fixtures at the heart of its recent investment. TSL is active in the concert touring and event markets, where these MAC’s are in high demand, so strategically this is a great move for HARMAN, TSL, and its customers.”
The MAC Viper Profile is a new breed of high-output profile luminaire with an exceptional feature set, superior light quality and a highly efficient optical system. It outperforms all market-leading profiles in the 1200-watt range and is even an alternative to 1500-watt fixtures. The Viper Profile is not only brighter, it is also a faster and more compact solution. With its 1000-watt HID source, the Viper consumes less power, making it over 50% more efficient than its 1200-watt rivals.
The MAC Viper Performance is a full-feature framing fixture that delivers an output and performance never before seen in a fixture this size, or one using so little power. Unlike other fixtures in this class, the MAC Viper Performance does not forgo an iris or animation wheel – they are both included along with a framing system and rotating gobos. The framing system consists of four shutter blades that can all individually adjust +/- 30° while the entire system can rotate +/- 55°. The exacting system can repeat each cue with great precision. When fully focused, gobos can be nicely framed with a soft edge. The MAC Viper Performance has adopted the compact form, impressive speed, superior light quality and beautiful colours that the MAC Viper Profile is renowned for and uses the same 1000-watt lamp.
