Andrea Taglia Captures New Notes for Andrea Bocelli with HARMAN’s AKG K812 Headphones

VIENNA, Austria – Andrea Taglia, FOH and Studio Engineer for the world-renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, recently added HARMAN’s AKG K812 headphones to his product lineup. For studio sessions as long as Bocelli’s, Taglia needed headphones that could not only put out consistent and pure sound with the finest sonic details, but could also provide a level of comfort that is tolerable for several hours. After testing the K812 headphones on multiple devices including mobile phones, notebooks, and home stereo systems, Andrea’s expectations were exceeded on multiple factors.

“After listening to different music styles including classical, jazz, pop, rock and even some heavy metal to test the headphones, I have a very clear idea of these headphones,” Taglia said. “They give out a full and detailed sound, just like a studio monitor would. Its low end is deep without being muddy or gummy and the high end never runs aggressive. The K812 is truly balanced across the range, which is impressive as it can deliver high pressure sound levels without changing the timbre.”

Introduced in late 2013, the K812 offers an oversized 53mm driver for the highest dynamic range ever in an AKG headphone. Its copper-covered aluminum voice coil extends sounds beyond the limits of human hearing, hitting a full spectrum of frequencies. Each K812 is built for comfort with a fast, adjustable headband and extremely soft ear pads to ensure comfort in any application, for extended periods of time. It also features a new open-back design optimized for pristine and natural sound.

“I really appreciate the comfort and design of this headphone—because the K812 is so lightweight and well-balanced you can really forget about them for hours” according to Taglia. “The cups close very well around the ears, and it is perfect for studio use. On top of that, I also like the headband adjustment clips, which allow for very exact and repeatable adjustment, convenient when switching headphone usage between different engineers.”

Taglia finished by saying, “AKG really impressed me with the K812 headphones, as they will be my reference headphones for a long period of time. My compliments go to the team who engineered this marvelous piece of sound technology.”
