HARMAN Professional’s AKG Acoustics, JBL Professional and Lexicon Continue Sponsorship of The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing®

NORTHRIDGE, California – HARMAN Professional today announced its AKG Acoustics, JBL Professional and Lexicon brands are maintaining their status as official “P&E Wing Sustaining Partners” with the renewal of their sponsorship of The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing® through 2013. This sponsorship will include cooperation in a variety of events and activities throughout the year, a presence on the P&E Wing section of the GRAMMY365 member Web site and sustaining sponsorship of the P&E Wing Manufacturers Council.

Over the past 12 months, HARMAN Professional supported P&E Wing events such as the P&E Wing’s “Mic to Mix” event, held at Conway Recording Studios in Los Angeles, which featured a live acoustic recording session by the pop/soul group Elaine Faye & Company, engineered by 2-time GRAMMY® winner Nathaniel Kunkel. HARMAN also sponsored “The Hang with HARMAN” at Nashville’s famed Sound Stage studios, featuring 3-time GRAMMY-winning engineer Chuck Ainlay (Mark Knopfler, Miranda Lambert, George Strait) and artist Betsey Long. At both events, attendees were able to hear various models of JBL studio monitors, AKG headphones and AKG microphones, and Lexicon PCM Native Reverb software plug-ins.

In 2012, HARMAN also celebrated its fourth year as the “official sound partner” of the GRAMMY Awards® and served as the title sponsor of the Pre-GRAMMY Gala, produced by Clive Davis and The Recording Academy.

“The work of the P&E Wing is vital to the advancement of the recording industry. As manufacturers of the tools used to craft today’s recordings, we feel an obligation not only to perfect our technologies, but to educate the market about the benefits,” said Peter Chaikin, Senior Manager, Recording & Broadcast Marketing, JBL Professional. “Our continued partnership with the P&E Wing provides a channel for valuable exchange with talented producers and engineers at the forefront of the industry.
