Beijing Tianyin Deploys HARMAN Solution For China’s “I Love My Singing” Event

Beijing, China – Celebrating its 90th year as a Communist Party-run country, singing and celebration filled the National Stadium in Beijing, China for the “I Love My Singing” event. With 12,000 people and more than 200 choruses lead by famous Chinese performers Song Zuying, Sun Nan, Tan Jing, Yang Hongji and the 160-member Beijing Symphony, among others, the PA system featured a complete HARMAN solution and was deployed by Beijing Tianyin.

The sound reinforcement system included 48 of HARMAN’s JBL VERTEC VT4889, 24 VT4888 and 36 VT4880 line array elements, 16 PRX512M and 20 SRX712 speakers, as well as 23 Crown IT-5000, 72 IT-9000 and 18 IT-12000 amplifiers and two Soundcraft Vi6 digital consoles and one Vi1 digital console – for sound reinforcement, monitoring and broadcast mixing.

The hang for each rig in the National Stadium included three groups of eight VT4889’s on the north and south side and one group of eight VT4888’s on the east and west. Six stacks of four VT4888’s were set on the ground to compensate the sound at the north stage, while four groups of four VT4880’s stood in the south stand.

The event focused on mass participation from its attendees, who ranged in age from 7 to 80. Representatives from all 16 regions in Beijing were present, including students, white and blue collar workers, military personnel, artists, retirees and many others.

The event is being reviewed and may create a new China chorus participation record.
