HARMAN-Backed Audio System Supports China’s 178-Day International Horticultural Expo

XI’AN, China – Covering an area of 418 hectares, including 188 covered in water, the International Horticultural Exposition relies on HARMAN’s JBL, Crown and Soundcraft brands for sound reinforcement during presentations, shows and background music at the event, which runs from April 28, to October 22, 2011. From a floating water stage to the general public address system, HARMAN lines the venue, which is expected to attract 12 million visitors and participants.

Included in the audio design in the venue are 17 JBL Control 29AV speakers, six PD5322/64 full-range speakers, five MRX712M 2-way monitors and four MRX728 subwoofers, all mixed through a Soundcraft LX-9 console and powered by dozens of Crown XTi series amplifiers.

The Expo’s concept is “Green Leads the Trend,” focused on advocating the concept of “Love of simplicity; Striving for a low-carbon lifestyle; Returning to nature.” More than 100 cities and organizations participate at the event, which is hosted by the Chinese government.

With such an important event, HARMAN provides a sound system that not only sounds flawless in all respects, but one that is also reliable, able to meet the demand of a 6-month show. Performances and all other audio needs from the water stage to the general lectures are easily managed and the equipment is showing no sign of wear, with months left in the exposition.
