“Tan Wei Wei’s voice is synonymous with beautiful tone, which the AKG line of microphones continues to provide musicians around the world,” stated James Liang, Marketing Director of Harman China. “We are proud to have Tan Weiwei as a sponsored artist for AKG as she will help bring more positive attention to our industry-leading microphone technology.”
The white mic, carved with the singer’s English name, Sitar Tan, included a DPT700 bodypack transmitter and HC577L mini microphone. The one-of-a-kind microphone and its support system debuted at Shanghai Expo in August, where, during the concert, Shanghai-based sound engineering firm Acton managed the sound through additional AKG D7-LTD, D5, C5 and Elle C microphones.
“It is a complete honor to work with and represent AKG,” stated Tan Weiwei. “The band works tirelessly to entertain our fans and with AKG microphones, they will truly get the best sounding show and album possible.”
Ideal for wireless broadcast systems and installed and live sound applications, the AKG DMS700 is designed to deliver the very best audio quality and channel quantity with quick and easy operation. With two frequency versions, each up to 155MHZ, the frequency range of the transmitter and the receiver give users the necessary flexibility, even in a crowded environment.
James continued, “Tan Weiwei continues to grow her passion for music in multiple performance and style aspects, just as AKG has spent the past 60 years focusing on the innovation and creation of microphone technology for all audio industries.”
During the official unveiling and presentation of the singer’s custom microphone, Tan Weiwei presented AKG with a commemorative plaque of her latest album, Tan Moumou.
